Article - Is Chicken Soup Really Good for the Soul?
This week, I have critiqued and analysed the above article to help improve my critical reading skills. I have improved my skills of this by looking through the article to find areas where the writer may not e correct, and given my reasons for why I disagree with what is written. I think that by analysing the article, I have learned to become a more careful reader by making sure that I read and understand the entire article fully, and by forming an opinion on the subject of the article.
This week, I have also interacted with Heather and Yash, who are also doing this course. All three of us have spoken in our English lessons together about how the course can help us with our analysis of the book, ‘Lord of the Flies’ which we are studying. Me and Heather have also spoken via text message and FaceTime about the articles we read for the assignment. We compared the articles and looked at points we could both talk about when writing the assignment.
Although I had difficulties with getting my computer to work, and also having flu for most of the week, I have found this assignment has helped me to become a better interdependent learner as I have learned better analysis skills, and better reading kills, which will help my learning in the future.
